A cool million: GRTI gives record breaking contribution

Gila River Telecommunications, Inc. (GRTI) is owned and operated by the Gila River Indian Community (GRIC). Each year, GRTI develops a strategic plan to provide better and more services to meet the needs of the Community. As part of the goals of GRTI, a dividend is given to GRIC each year. At the end of the year 2009, the GRTI Board of Directors have given a record breaking contribution of $1,027,846.17. The check was presented in GRIC Tribal Council meeting on November 28, 2009 in Sacaton Az. GRTI is happy to support the Community with this contribution and bringing a better infrastructure to provide the latest in telecommunicaiton service. GRTI has been in operation for 21 years providing telephone, Internet, High Speed DSL and data services for both residential and business customers. The board of directors include, Malcom Eschief-Chairman, Gordon Santos, Rebecca Kisto and Anthony Newkirk.

 

Bruce Holdridge, the new general manager commented that GRTI is proud to be the preferred provider for all communication services. GRTI looks forward to a healthy and prosperous as a partner with the Community. GRTI is working hard to bring Fiber To The Home that will offer a better quality of service. In the future, we will be placing fiber for local business that will offer a greater bandwidth.

A newly organized subsidiary of GRTI is Alluvion Communications which is managed by Derek White. Alluvion can offer businesses in the Lone Butte Industrial Park foreign exchange numbers, which means phone numbers that start with the area codes 602 / 623 / 520 (the 520 area code is other than GRIC calling area for example Casa Grande). This service is specific for businesses that need have a phone number so their customers can call those area code numbers. Alluvion can also service surrounding communities offering wholesale and advanced retail services specific for their telecom needs. This is a great opportunity to generate new business services.

Native Technology Solutions (NTS) is also a subsidiary of GRTI. The type of services offered by NTS are business phone systems, cabling, security systems, and more services.
